Hello, and welcome to Best Life Counselling. My name is Kim, and I am dedicated to helping you unlock your full potential and live your best life. With a focus on compassionate, evidence-based therapy, I strive to support your journey towards mental health and emotional well-being. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, or looking for leadership support, my goal is to provide the guidance and tools you need to thrive.
Professional Background
With over 30 years of experience in the mental health and addictions field, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my practice. I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work and an undergraduate degree in Psychology. I am a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (#800756) Many insurance providers cover Social Work services. My extensive background includes working with individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, addiction, and life transitions. I also have significant experience in healthcare leadership, which enables me to offer specialized support to executives, managers, and entrepreneurs. My practice includes various evidence-based therapeutic techniques, ensuring that each session is tailored to meet your unique needs.

What to Expect from Your Therapy Sessions

Our first session will be a chance for us to explore some of the goals and challenges that brought you to therapy. This session allows us to get to know each other better and determine the best approach for meeting your needs.

Based on our initial session we will work together to start developing a personalized therapy plan tailored to your specific needs. This plan will outline the next steps in the therapy process. We will work on goals for therapy and have conversations about approaches that could be used to meet your goals.

Generally, I encourage weekly to bi-weekly sessions to start in order to get some momentum going in the therapy. Preferred times and types of therapy (virtual or in person) will be negotiated. I strive to offer a variety of times and days of the week to meet your needs. Our regular therapy sessions will focus on working through your challenges and achieving your goals recognizing that goals may shift across the therapy process. These sessions will be a time for you to explore new ways of coping, make meaning of your experiences, gain insight and begin healing.

Throughout your therapy journey, we will check in to ensure that our work is meeting your needs. Open honest feedback helps me to improve my practice and provide the best possible service that I can to you. While I may provide suggestions, support and guidance ultimately the journey you are taking is your own and check-ins will ensure that we are on track with where you want to go in the therapy process.
